S-3178 is a premium polyether-modified siloxane surface additive, professionally engineered to deliver a distinctive dry-smooth tactile finish and exceptional all-round surface protection for high-end coating systems. This versatile multifunctional agent significantly enhances the smoothness of cured coating films, while providing superior anti-scratch and wear-resistant performance, effectively preventing surface marring, scratching and blocking (anti-adhesion) issues that commonly occur during use and stacking.
It is specially optimized for water-based coating systems, while also maintaining stable compatibility with solvent-based formulations, boasting excellent resin compatibility and a negligible impact on coating film permeability. This unique property ensures the original structural integrity, breathability and functional performance of the coating film remain fully preserved, avoiding common defects caused by conventional surface additives.
S-3178 is specially designed for applications requiring a non-greasy, dry-slippery and refreshing tactile experience, eliminating the sticky or greasy feel of ordinary additives. It serves as a highly effective scratch-resistant leveling aid, ideal for industrial coatings, wood furniture finishes, decorative paints and other high-standard scenarios that demand both professional appearance and long-lasting durable surface performance.

Application and Addition Amount
Applications:
- Coating Systems: Solvent-based paints, water-based industrial coatings, rubber elastic paints
- Specialized Fields: Wood furniture finishes, decorative paints, leather treatment and finishing
Usage & Dosage:
- Recommended Dosage: Standard: 0.2% – 5% of the total formula
- Incorporation: Add during the paint, coating or leather treatment mixing stage to ensure uniform and optimal distribution
